HOWTO: Tune Your Turbospoke

So you’ve got your Turbospoke and you want to start tuning the sound. This short article should explain everything you need to know about getting the most out of your Turbospoke.

The first thing to know about your Motocards is that the sounds they make can change from one bike to the next depending on the following factors:

  • The number of spokes on the wheel
  • The distance between the chain stay and the spokes
  • The wheel size
  • Your cycling speed

No matter what type of bike you have, we know you’ll be amazed at how cool your Turbospoke sounds, and because all bikes are different, you can challenge your mates to see who can get the best sound!

The sound tuning of each Motocard is based on the 2 power slots. These slots allow the Motocards to be pinned so that more or less of the card is in contact with the spokes. This small variation is enough to make a big change to the sound of each card.

There are 3 different Motocards and each one is a different design. The different shapes mean that each card makes a very different sound. The T500 Motocard is the loudest of the three but the T250 and the T100 have multiple card fingers which themselves make totally unique sounds.

One final thing that you can do to tweak the sound even further, is to re-position the black clamp at different points along the chain-stay. The closer it is to the middle of the wheel, the smoother the sound. The further you move the clamp toward the rim of the wheel, the louder and choppier the sound becomes.

So what are you waiting for?
