Turbospoke has been listed as one of the Top 30 Toys of Toy Fair 2010 by ASTRA (American Specialty Toy Retailing Association).
The list was compiled by ASTRA in their 'Share the Fair' initiative where 85 retailers gathered together and discussed the toys which stood out for them at this years International Toy Fair in New York. The list of 30 was whittled down from a list of 150 toys.
Turbospoke's Tom Maxwell had this to say "This is an excellent result for Turbospoke. We're hugely grateful to ASTRA and its members for compiling this list and we're delighted to be a part of it. This result very much reflects the positive reaction and overwhelming feedback that we received at this years Toy Fair"
Thanks is also due to Julie Jones of TD Monthly for publishing the full list which can be seen here.

The latest offering from YouTube to catch our eye. This clip is absolutely hilarious and quite brilliant.
This must drive his neighbours mad and it can't be very practical...... but we don't care, it looks totally awesome!!
We get asked this a lot. Mainly by 8 yr old boys, but also by parents wondering will it suit their son or daughters bike. We think it's because we generally use BMX's for our displays because they look cool. Well, we're here to put the record straight......
....The answer: YES
Turbospoke works on all sorts of bikes from racers to mountain bikes and cool custom cruisers to choppers. As long as your bike has a spoked rear wheel and the frame size is within the range for fitment (which 95% of bikes are) then it'll work and sound totally awesome.
Here are a couple of pictures of Turbospokes fitted to a mountain bike and a Raleigh Chopper. Check out the gallery for more pics.

Thanks to Brian Mullin for supplying the mountain bike pic and a great article here.
We get asked this all the time, and you would be forgiven for thinking that it is. With it's solid realistic shape and cool satin silver finish it looks just like a real motorbike exhaust pipe.

However it's not made of metal at all, it is in fact made of plastic!
People are amazed when they hold the exhaust pipe in their hands and realise that it's really really light and surprisingly flexible. This video demonstrates what we're talking about.
It's important that the exhaust be as flexible and durable as possible to withstand the bumps and knocks that it will suffer during its life and so it has been made from a specially formulated plastic which returns to its normal shape but also withstands a serious amount of punishment.
Everybody here at Turbospoke would like to thank all of our customers and wish you a very Happy New Year and a prosperous 2010.

Whenever we demonstrate Turbospoke at fairs and shows around the world, one of the most common questions that we get asked is:
"Can you get one with twin pipes?"
The simple answer is NO.
However, this gave us an idea and one of our team here at the 'Turbospoke Technology Centre' took it upon himself to have a go at fitting a second Turbospoke to one of our demonstration bikes.
This is how he did it.....
Step 1.
A second universal clamp was fitted to the angled chainstay above the original Turbospoke.

Step 2.
Because the second universal clamp is attached at such an angle, the exhaust pipe wouldn't fit in above the original exhaust. This is where things got tricky. Because the exhaust pipe is made from plastic, it is possible to use a heat gun to soften the plastic and re-bend the exhaust upward. By doing this, it's possible to make the second exhaust pipe fit into the clamp and sit parallel to the lower exhaust.

Step 3.
With everything in place and the new exhaust left to cool down, the second clamp was tightened into place and both clamps were loaded up with Motocards. Needless to say the sound is twice as loud it looks very cool.

So you’ve got your Turbospoke and you want to start tuning the sound. This short article should explain everything you need to know about getting the most out of your Turbospoke.
The first thing to know about your Motocards is that the sounds they make can change from one bike to the next depending on the following factors:
- The number of spokes on the wheel
- The distance between the chain stay and the spokes
- The wheel size
- Your cycling speed
No matter what type of bike you have, we know you’ll be amazed at how cool your Turbospoke sounds, and because all bikes are different, you can challenge your mates to see who can get the best sound!
The sound tuning of each Motocard is based on the 2 power slots. These slots allow the Motocards to be pinned so that more or less of the card is in contact with the spokes. This small variation is enough to make a big change to the sound of each card.
There are 3 different Motocards and each one is a different design. The different shapes mean that each card makes a very different sound. The T500 Motocard is the loudest of the three but the T250 and the T100 have multiple card fingers which themselves make totally unique sounds.
One final thing that you can do to tweak the sound even further, is to re-position the black clamp at different points along the chain-stay. The closer it is to the middle of the wheel, the smoother the sound. The further you move the clamp toward the rim of the wheel, the louder and choppier the sound becomes.
So what are you waiting for?
GET TUNING!!!
